SPH3U  Homework Policy

Last Modified: Thursday September 07, 2006

There are not huge quantities of "grunt work" assigned in Introductory Physics.  There are four simple homework expectations:

1. Every night after you have a class you must spend ten minutes reviewing the definitions, concepts and diagrams from class.  (You will therefore need excellent notes!).  This is not a difficult task and will make a huge difference in your understanding.

2. At the start of the next class you must then ask questions about anything you didn't understand from the previous class.  The onus is on you to get the help you need.

3. Complete the assigned reading as we go through the course - this is clearly listed on the content page for each unit.  Just look for the links associated with each topic.  Again - it is up to you to ask questions about any reading you do not understand.

4. When formal / written work is assigned the dates are clearly published in the due dates table on the daybook page.  If you are not able to meet this deadline you must speak to your teacher before the due date.

Penalties for missed academic work:
GLC
:  For missed assignments that require 7 days to complete.

Sunday Study:
For missed assignments that were due "next day". (Starting with the 2nd missed assignment, but both must be completed and submitted by the end of Sunday study.)
