The Kite Runner

Soundtrack Assignment:

At this point, you've read up to chapter 15 in The Kite Runner. You have enough information to form opinions about certain characters within the story.  Your task is to choose a song that would be used in a soundtrack for this novel.  More specifically, choose a song that you feel has a strong connection with one of the characters in the text.

The song that you choose should be selected with care.  Don't choose a song because it is currently popular or select a song at random, identify a song that has meaningful lyrics to a particular character within the story.  The song should reflect their personality or their actions.

You are asked to write at least 400 words stating why you chose that particular song and the association that the lyrics have with the character that you have chosen to write about.  In addition to choosing a song that has a connection with one of the characters, you may also want to search for song lyrics that make broader connections to the themes within The Kite Runner.

In addition to your written work, you will submit an e-mail to the class conference containing an mp3 of the track that you have chosen and a copy of the song's lyrics.
