ENG3U: A Pre-AP course
This is a course that focuses on argumentation and rhetoric, so in all the work we study, we will be asking: What is the argument (or point) being made? How does the writer, speaker, or character construct arguments?
In the course we study both imaginative literature (what you’re used to studying in English: novels, short stories, poetry, and drama) and non-fiction (literature of fact: essays, visual texts: print ads, some documentary film, photographs)
The course asks you to think critically about, not just literature, but the world
This course will prepare you for grade 12 AP
This course will prepare you to write the AP Language and Composition exam if you choose
