St. Andrew’s College Science Department is changing the way we are reporting your son’s learning.

We will still be requiring boys to complete things like tests, labs and assignments, and we will still be assessing these based on the Ontario Ministry of Education’s Achievement Charts for Science. However, instead of reporting marks based on the type of assessment (Tests, Labs, Assignments etc.), we will be reporting performance in terms of the skills that underlie these activities. The hope is that boys will be encouraged to focus on the full spectrum of learning skills rather than just on a few tests or reports.  In order to encourage this, SAC Science courses will be ensuring that a wide range of activities are used in assessing your son’s achievement. The table below shows what assessment tools will typically be used for each category:
