Championships do not happen by accident. Championships are the
result of hard work, commitment, and team cohesiveness. They are the result of
deliberate choices made by motivated and well trained players who possess good
decision making skills both on and off the field. Our team
goal this season was to win two championships. The first was missed
by the narrowest of margins to a better motivated and well prepared KES team.
The second was achieved by ourselves in much the same manner in an excellent
display of rugby in which 5 different players scored tries.
It
was a challenging season with many ups and downs. The mental aspect of the
game was the toughest for a number of our players, while GLC, Focus, AP exams,
and the busyness of the spring season meant there were some discouraging
practices. However, the team rallied well and came together for two
superb games this season: The 24-0 win over UCC at the CAIS and the 27-5
Championship match. Congratulations to all members of this phenomenally
talented team. - it has been a real pleasure working with so many of you for the
past 4 seasons. Best of luck to our grads - we hope to see your names in
future rugby successes!
Thanks guys!
