Sports Conditioning and Athletic
Training (SCAT)
BRAKES - Balance, Reaction, Agility, Kuickness,
Explosiveness, and Speed!
The athletics program at St. Andrew's
is constantly changing to meet the needs of its student-athletes and aid in
their pursuit of exceptional athletic performance. In 2007-08, the sport
conditioning and athletic training program (SCAT) enters its second year at
St. Andrew's and will continue to assist Andrean
athletes in their athletic development. During the
past three decades, the athletic attributes that have transcended and
transformed the majority of sports have been core strength, power, balance,
agility, and quickness. However, traditional athletic workouts do not
effectively target these key secondary fitness components. Athletes
and coaches used to believe that individuals who did not naturally possess
secondary fitness components could not develop the skills and could not
become elite athletes. This is just not true! With a properly
designed and targeted SCAT training program, any athlete can improve their
key fitness components. Learn more...

year's U16 team and new students to the school, all of the players should
gel together into a highly competitive team. The squad should
achieve tremendous success if they manage to buy into the philosophy of
playing hard, playing smart, and playing together. Coach Ludwig looks
