Flying Officer Hugh J. Findlay

Flying Officer Hugh John Findlay was the son of David and Effie Hamilton Findlay; husband of Jessie Carroll Findlay, of Westmount, Province of Quebec, Canada. 

He attended St. Andrew's College for a very short period from July 19, 1929 to September 12, 1929. He later earned a Batchelor of Arts from McGill University, and a LL.B from Osgood Hall Law School Toronto. He was called to the bar in Ontario.

He served in the 406th "Lynx" Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Force which when formed on 10 May 1941, was a night fighter squadron and remained so until 27 November 1944. 

Findlay was killed in action on September 14, 1941 at the age of 28 and is buried in Chevington Cemetery, Northumberland, United Kingdom (Grave Reference: Sec. H. Grave 240.)
