Lieutenant Robert Turner Cattle Jr. was born January 21, 1914 in Seward, Nebraska, son of Robert Turner Cattle Sr. and Mercedes Brown. He spent four years at St. Andrew's College from 1928 to 1932 and rose to become Cadet Commanding Officer in his final year.

He may have served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II however an obituary of his father apparently written by Robert's wife, indicates Robert served as a Captain with the 88th Division, 351st Infantry, 1st Battalion.

Afterward he practiced law in Seward, Nebraska eventually becoming a county judge in 1974.

He married Freida Spomer and had three children: Gwen Ellen, Robert Turner, III, and Dorothy Jean. Robert died on April 5, 1989.
