Second Lieutenant R. S. Wood
SAC 1905-1907

Second Lieutenant Richard Shaw Wood attended St. Andrew's College from 1905 to 1907. He was the Sergeant Major of the cadet corps in its first year.

After having served as in instructor in Fort Worth, Texas, Wood was in the Royal Flying Corps but had not yet reached France when he was killed in a flying accident on Sunday March 17th, 1918 in England. 

He is buried in the East Boldre (St. Paul) Churchyard, Hampshire, United Kingdom (Grave Reference: 5.) The Churchyard contains a plot of twenty War Graves, including five Royal Flying Corps and 14 Royal Air Force; the grave of one American airman has been removed. There was an aerodrome at East Boldre in 1917-18.
