Private Raymond B. Whitaker

#512569 Private Raymond Broomfield Whitaker was born in Toronto, Ontario on October 20, 1895, the son of the late George Allison Whitaker and the late Nellie Whitaker of Toronto, Ontario. He attended St. Andrew's College from 1909 to 1912.

Private Raymond Whitaker's brother Ewart Gladstone Whitaker was born June 1st, 1896, and enlisted on February 4th, 1916. George Edward Whitaker (322921), was born December 1st, 1897 and enlisted on March 14th, 1916. Both enlisted in Guelph, Ontario, and both indicated that they were students. All 3 brothers named their uncle, W. H. Whitaker, 144 Chatham Street, Brantford, Ontario, as their next-of-kin on their military attestations.

He enlisted on March 23, 1916 and was serving with the 3rd Division Train, Canadian Army Service Corps when he died of pneumonia on June 8th, 1918 at the age of 23 years. 

He is buried in the St. Pol British Cemetery, France (Grave Reference: I. B. 2.)
