Driver George N. Risteen
SAC 1909-1914

#318974 Driver George Nevers Risteen was the son of George Fredrick and Jean J. Risteen, of 1360 Harwood St, Vancouver, and was related to Second Lieutenant Clifford Fraser Risteen who also died in the war. He attended St. Andrew's College from 1909 to 1914.

He was serving with the 53rd Queen's Battery, 13th Brigade, Canadian Field Artillery, when he died of wounds on October 10, 1919 at the age of 20 years.

He is buried in the Haynecourt British Cemetery, France (Grave Reference: III. C. 4.) There are now nearly 300, 1914-18 war casualties commemorated in this site. The cemetery covers an area of 1,223 square metres.
