Lieutenant D. P. Gibson
Second Lieutenant Donald Patzki Gibson was born in Toronto on May 2, 1892, the son of Alfred E. and Annette J. Gibson, later of Briarcliffe, Oakville, Ontario. He attended Seaforth Public School, St. Andrew's College from 1905 to 1907, Wesley College and University College (University of Toronto) from 1912-1913 where he was a member of Chi Delta Psi (Psi Upsilon). Gibson then joined the Canadian Bank of Commerce.
After twice being rejected for active service as physically unfit, he was accepted in March 1917 as Equipment Officer in the Royal Flying Corps. In January 1918 he went to England.
Here after some months of service he succumbed to the effects of hard work in carrying on while in ill health from which he had suffered for some years past. He died at Leeds, England on Saturday July 6th, 1918. He is buried in Toronto (Mount Pleasant) Cemetery, Ontario, Canada (Grave Number: Plot 12. Lot 201.)
