Flying Officer Harold E. Davies

WWI - From June 1919 ReviewHarold E. Davies attended St Andrew's College from 1912-1917. In his final year he played Hockey and First Rugby.

Following St. Andrew's he joined the Royal Flying Corps as a 2nd Lieutenant, was shot down over Germany and taken prisoner. After World War I, Harold worked for the Toronto Transportation Company and later joined The Reinhart Brewery.

When war broke out in 1940 he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and served until the end of the war. He was one of only six Canadians who had served in all four air forces in which a Canadian could serve: Royal Naval Air Force, Royal Flying Corps, Royal Air Force and the Royal Canadian Air Force.

He was in the real estate business until his retirement in 1961 and spent his last years in London, Ontario.

Harold died on February 4, 1993 in London, Ontario at the age of 96.
