Private John G. Cutler
SAC 1905-1907

Private John Geoffrey Cutler was born on September 8, 1891 in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and attended St. Andrew's College from 1905 to 1907.

He was a clerk when he enlisted with the 44th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force on May 6, 1915, but was serving with the 8th Battalion (Manitoba Regiment) when he died on August 15, 1917 at the age of 26. Since his grave is unknown, his name is recorded on the Vimy Memorial, France. Inscribed on the ramparts of the Vimy Memorial are the names of over 11,000 Canadian soldiers who were posted as "missing, presumed dead" in France.
