Military Old Boys of World War II

A special thanks to former Cadet Adjutant Justin Linquist '96 for his assistance in researching material for this portion of the website. This page is a work in progress as we continue to add Old Boys profiles.

At least five hundred and ninety-four Andreans served in almost every theatre of World War II and forty-five were not to survive. Eleven spent time as prisoners of war and at least 35 were wounded. At least twenty-five also served with our affiliated unit, the 48th Highlanders of Canada. This included Masters and Staff who are listed on another page. (Note: Several Andreans who served in the war have been subsequently identified but who's names were not included in the Review. They are indicated with italics.)

Sixty-four were cited for honours including eight Distinguished Flying Crosses and one Bar, four Military Crosses, three Air Four Crosses, two Companions of the Order of the Bath, three Distinguished Service Orders, one Order of the Patriotic War 1st Class (Russian) and twenty-two Mentions in Dispatches. (See World War II Honours Page.)
