Lieutenant Douglas Christie WrightLieutenant Douglas Christie Wright was born on September 12, 1895, the son of Lilian St. Clair and the late John Douglas Wright, of 98, Highland Avenue, Toronto, Canada and attended St. Andrew's College from 1909 to 1912.

On February 28, 1916 he joined the 170th Battalion having served in the militia with the 9th Mississauga Horse and two years with the Queen's Own Rifles. Wright was then posted to the 18th Battalion, Canadian Infantry, and eventually attached to 28th Squadron, Royal Flying Corps.

In Italy, Wright was killed in aerial combat with Austrian air men on February 20th, 1918 at age 22 and is buried in Tezze British Cemetery, Italy (Grave Reference: Plot 5. Row C. Grave 8.) Tezze is a village in the Province of Treviso, a large town north of Venice. The village is 8 kilometres east of Susegana, a town on the main road some 24 kilometres north of Treviso. The British Military Cemetery lies about 270 metres south of the village of Tezze.
