John D. Glover
SAC Master 1908-1911
Captain John Donald Glover was the son of William and Mary Glover, of Orillia, Ontario and the brother of Albert and Sergeant Norman Glover of the 10th Battalion. He was a Master at St. Andrew's College from 1908 to 1911.
Glover enlisted on August 4th, 1914 and was serving with the 4th Battalion, Central Ontario Regiment when he was killed in action on April 23rd, 1915 at the age of 25. He left a widow and two children.
As his grave is unknown, his name is recorded on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium (Grave Reference: Panel 18 - 24 - 26 - 30.) The Menin Gate Memorial is situated at the eastern side of the town of Ypres (now Ieper) in the Province of West Flanders, on the road to Menin and Courtrai. It bears the names of 55,000 men who were lost without trace during the defence of the Ypres Salient in the First World War.
